Rojda Tosun is a lawyer, legal design expert, and founder of PublicLegalDesign. Working at the intersection of law, design, and government, she explores how rules and institutions can be designed to enable societal change.
As a fully qualified lawyer, she understands the law not only as a system, but also its underlying logic, its gaps, and the points at which people struggle to navigate it. Her perspective is deeply rooted in design: where systems create friction, she sees indications of where change is possible.
Rojda combines legal expertise with a background in design and many years of experience in the public sector. As a Mercator Fellow on International Affairs and through projects with German federal ministries, the United Nations, and international universities, she has worked on questions of law, innovation, and governance at both national and international levels. She also heads the Leuphana Law Lab and teaches at institutions including HTW Berlin and Northeastern University.
For Rojda, PublicLegalDesign is more than a field of work: it is an attempt to build bridges between institutions, rules, and the people who live with them.
