Robin Auer is Senior Design Lead at IBM. For more than eight years, he has explored artificial intelligence and its impact on the design profession, drawing on experience gained in previous roles at Red Bull and UBS AG. At UBS’s Y Think Tank, he used strategic foresight methods to develop future scenarios before joining IBM in 2017. There, he leads a team in Automation and AI and defines product requirements in close collaboration with Fortune 500 clients.
Alongside his work at IBM, he teaches strategic design at the University of Applied Sciences Konstanz (HTWG) and the fundamentals of AI in Pforzheim. He serves on the advisory board of Creative Days, is a member of the German Designer Club (DDC), and was Deputy Chair of its Executive Board from 2021 to 2024. He also regularly appears as a speaker and author on a range of design-related topics.
At FORM / FUTURE 2026, Robin Auer will moderate the Design & Business panel, exploring what design is still worth in an AI-native business environment — and what this means for leaders who are currently rethinking creative work and the role of design.
