Alexander teaches media and communication at Quadriga University. He also heads the Centre for Corporate Architecture there. As a columnist for the FAZ, Die Welt and the NZZ, he writes on cultural studies, as well as architecture and the transformation of our cities. For ten years, he was Editorial Director of the architecture magazine *Baumeister* and the urban development journal Topos.
