Berlin has reinvented itself more than once. After the post-wall Berlin, the city has changed and is constantly changing. But facing a decade of big events, questions about representation, identity and vision emerge. Between an Olympic bid, a look ahead to EXPO 2035, the Internationale Bauausstellung and the city’s 800th birthday, this panel opens a creative dialog to identify synergies and potentials to present Berlin in the age of big events. The question at the centre: how do we find a vision of a Berlin after the post-wall era, which Berlin do we present to the world and how do big events support democracies aligned with social, cultural and economic questions.
