Daniel-Jan Girl is Chair of the Supervisory Board overseeing Berlin’s bid for EXPO 2035. As an entrepreneur and former President of the Berlin Chamber of Commerce and Industry, he brings extensive business experience, strategic insight and a strong network to the work of the board.
As a board member of Global Goals für Berlin e.V., he initiated the idea of bringing EXPO 2035 to Berlin and has been a driving force behind the city’s sustainable transformation for many years. For many years, he has been working at the intersection of business, digitalisation and urban development, with the aim of strengthening Berlin as a future-ready and internationally connected metropolis. His focus lies on entrepreneurial innovation, technological sovereignty and the active involvement of the business community in broader societal transformation processes.
