Morning Session
Prof. Dr. Friedrich von Borries (*1974) teaches design theory at the University of Fine Arts of Hamburg (HFBK). As both a scholar and a designer, he operates in the socio-political borderlands of architecture, design, and art.
“At the core of my work lies the relationship between design and social development. As a scholar, I seek to understand the world. As a designer, I seek to change it. That’s why I engage in research and design to explore political questions that shape our present.”
In addition to publishing books and curating exhibitions, he develops artistic projects and supports organizations through transformation processes — enabling people to discover, explore, and sensually experience new possibilities for themselves and the world.
