Maria Idicula Kurian is a seasoned CMF Designer who has built a career in the automotive space for over a decade. Having navigated both OEM and startup environments, she brings a rich and versatile design perspective—from agile, innovation-driven environments to large-scale, production-led operations.
Driven by curiosity, she describes herself as a designer who enjoys working beyond disciplines and boundaries. She thrives on investigating the uncertain, where new ideas are shaped, and engaging in a variety of future applications. Her interest in the fields of science, technology, and craftsmanship helps her build cross-disciplinary and sensitive approaches to design.
Currently, she is a Senior CMF Designer at McLaren, based out of the iconic McLaren Technology Centre in Woking. In this role, she works hand-in-hand with design, engineering, and materials teams to shape future-facing CMF strategies that blend high performance with compelling brand storytelling. Her sensibility brings a fresh perspective to automotive design, redefining how materials are experienced and how they foster a deeper connection with products in tomorrow’s mobility landscape.
