Dr. Andrea Augsten is a design researcher and professor specializing in organizational change, sustainable innovation, and policymaking. She holds the Professorship for Design, Management and Innovation at the New Design University in St. Pölten, Austria. Her work bridges design theory and practice to foster transformative change across business, social, and policy contexts, with a particular focus on design research approaches to digital transformation, foresight, and organizational development.
 

She previously served as Visiting and Interim Professor at the Technical University of Dresden and has gained professional and research experience at institutions such as Volkswagen AG (foresight department), the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH for the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, and the University of Applied Sciences in Schwäbisch Gmünd, Germany. In addition, she has taught courses in design management, design research, and futures studies at universities in Germany, Switzerland, and China.

Dr. Augsten is Vice Chairwoman of the German Society for Design Theory and Research (dgtf), an associate member of the German Club of Rome, and a member of the Editorial Board of CoDesign Journal.
