Circular Complexity – Industriedesign zwischen Realität und Utopie?
| Powered by VDID

September 11 @ 15:30 - 16:30
Lisa Cerny, Max Mauracher, Dr. Manuel Braun, Julian Witte
Moderiert von Frederike Kintscher-Schmidt

Panel (DE)

Circularity today raises urgent questions: Which skills are essential to drive transformation? How must systems within companies shift, and what role can politics play in enabling change? What if the design of products—and the strategies behind them—were conceived from the outset in circular terms? And how might the social dimension itself become the starting point for sustainability: how we collaborate, structure power, and build organizations that embody resilience and renewal?Lisa Cerny (UBA, German Environment Agency) brings in the policy and strategy perspective to the panel, where circularity is intended to shape systemic change —alongside the traveling exhibition of The German Ecodesign Award (BMUKN, UBA & IDZ), which is shown at FORM / FUTURE. Dr. Manuel Braun talks about the skills and attitudes required to enable this transformation in business Max Mauracher develops new narratives around circularity, while Julian Witte contributes the perspective of industrial design practice, where development processes surface new challenges, questions, and necessities of circular thinking. Frederike Kintscher-Schmidt, as the moderator and VDID President, brings together the design industry itself.

This talk highlights how the circular economy can shift from a theoretical utopia to a lived strategy—across the design industry, politics, companies, and each design practices.
